One Day Sample Itineraries in Amish Country
Remember that we are more than happy to customize an experience for your group. Just let us know what your interest or available time is and we will go to work for you.
But to begin thinking we have put together a few samples that we have found successful over the past few years for you to review.
Quilts, Quilts, and More Quilts - tie a quilt orientated tour onto our annual quilt show here in Arthur and see some fine Amish handcraft. Our Arthur quilt competition usually attracts over 100 local entries and there are many more past winners and other quilts on display and/or for sale in local stores and shop windows about the downtown area and in the nearby country shops.
Fall Foliage in Illinois Amish Country - Enjoy the fall color of Arthur and East Central Illinois, spend a day in Amish country taking in the sites, smells, and sense of days gone by, through our more relaxing way of life. While this part of the country is not know for "leaf-peeping" tours, fall brings on its own special feeling to Illinois Amish Country. Yes, we have leaves, and a whole lot more. Hand shocked corn fields, Apples and fresh cider shops, crowded pumpkin patches, fall gift shops, smoky chimneys, special fall festivals almost every weekend... Plenty to make a visit or tour worth your while.
Theatre and Amish
Country Meal and Tour - Depending on your travel schedule, a number of
groups like to include a step on guided tour in the morning, a lunch at an
Amish home, take a short Amish farm tour, and then finish up with either a
matinee or evening performance at the Little Theatre in nearby Sullivan. If
you plan to return home on this day and are a bit farther away, the matinee
productions on Wednesdays, Fridays, or Saturdays work best. If your drive
times are an hour or so, the evening schedule can be easily scheduled. If
your time is tight, we can add just an Amish meal before the theatre and
your group will have a fun and special adventure.
And Lastly... Our
Most Popular One Day Amish Country Itinerary
- Available Any Time
-
This group schedule offers a sample time format (remember we can vary these
times to suite your travel schedules) for our basic, and most popular,
package including simply a step on guided countryside tour, an Amish home
meal with a farm tour, and plenty of time to visit shops, both out in the
Amish countryside and some of the unique shops right in Arthur. We do more
of this package than any other offering.
